Annie and Kristen are scheduled to land in SA in about an hour! Aubrey and I will go pick them and the babies up and bring them back to the house. Aubrey was evidently so excited and restless today that Dirk finally kicked her out of the house and sent her over here. He claims that she was making him nervous with all her pacing and he knew that she wanted to be with her sisters tonight. So, Dirk let Aubrey pack up and she's spending the night at our house! Dad's ultimate dream for all of his life has been to have all of his children sleeping under one roof. That has rarely happened due to us living states away from each other and the fact that three of the girls are married and have tons of kids.
But, tonight will be one for Dad (and the rest of us) to remember because we are all sleeping in the same house. Now Dad is the one pacing excitedly... :)

Here's a really awful picture for you. The only reason that I would ever let anyone see a picture like this is because I have no more braces! I went in this morning and it took 4 people 2 hours to get everything out of my mouth. It usually doesn't take them that long to deband people, but because they knew that the pain in my head and neck could very well double in severity while they were pulling everything off, they tried to go very slowly. They were very sweet to take their time and be careful with me, but the pain definitely got much worse by the end. Anyway...a small price to pay for getting rid of yucky braces.Beth got hers off on Tuesday so now all of the sisters are braces-free. We want to whiten our teeth now and Beth heard of a cheap at-home way to do it with hydrogen-peroxide, baking soda, and water. Anyone ever done that? Does it work?

a book?
My psych professor has evidently forgotten that he hates me. Maybe he gets his classes confused, I don't know. Today in class, he gave my latest (and greatest) paper back to me and said that he was so impressed with my work that he wanted me to write an entire book to expound upon my paper. He spent the next 10 minutes listing all the reasons why I should write a book and why he should be the one to help me. In fact, he was practically begging me to let him help me write a book. He has always attached long notes to all of my papers, saying things like I'm the best student writer he's ever seen and have I ever seriously considered writing for a career. Anyway, he gave me all his ideas for this book that he evidently thinks I'm going to write and he even had title and chapter suggestions. When I told him that I was intent on finishing nursing school and really had no desire to write for a living, he was severely disappointed. What I wanted to say was, "Remember, I'm the one who's an abused, insane liar! I'm also the one turning in fake papers for your enjoyment. I'm also the one that blogs about how awful you are!" But of course I was much too amused with the situation to do anything to destroy it.
What's funny and sad is that every single paper that I've turned in for his class has been written the night before it was due. I never outline or draft anything and usually just type it out as I think. Then I spellcheck, print, and go. Because of my procrastination, I'm always disappointed with my writing. Really, my mother would be embarrassed (that's why I don't let her edit them! :). And those last minute papers are the best work he's seen in 20 years of teaching? That's sad. I don't really think that what he told me says much of anything about me or my writing. What it probably says is how low the quality of writing must be from his other students. Can we make any general conclusions about homeschooling vs. government school here?
And in other school news, I finally sat down to map out what the next few semesters were going to look like for me and which classes I still need. I figured out that I really have alot more credits than I thought. It looks like I will be finished with all non-clinical classes by Christmas. That's only one more semester! I had no idea I was that far...I thought it would be at least 3 or 4 semesters till I was finished. So we're praying that my health improves enough by this summer that the nursing school will admit me into the clinical program. If they accept me, I can stay in school and keep my health insurance. If they think I'm still too sick to complete the program, I'm out of school and lose insurance. Oh well...I guess if that happens, I can always write a book about it!

normal
Tomorrow is a new week and life starts again...
This week has been full of weird and crazy things and I am so glad it's over. The new week will hopefully be normal, or as normal as our lives ever get.
I'm trying so hard to keep up with school right now. It's killing me and makes me wonder if I could really handle nursing school with the broken body I have right now. And the semester started off so well... But somewhere around spring break my health and my grades started rolling downhill again. Now I'm working twice as hard as everybody else, just to hopefully end up with a B average. I am pretty sure I have low A's in all of my classes right now, but I'm not expecting things to stay that way. We only have about 4 weeks left, so we'll see. Oh, and I turned in the next installment of fake papers last week, so when I get those back I'll tell you what happens. :)
After all the drama of the week, my sisters were very sweet and took me to see a movie and then shopping this afternoon. They really are the best sisters and friends I could ever have. Of course, we were missing 2 sisters, but not for long because the Virginia sisters will be here on Friday! Oh happy day! I love all of them.
Tomorrow is a meal Sunday after church, and we're supposed to bring Asian food. Does anyone really know how to make Asian food? I'm going to make fried rice because it's the only thing I know how to make that I can pass off as "Asian." I hope people don't laugh at me. :)
All the way my Savior leads me,
what have I to ask beside?
Can I doubt is His tender mercy
who through life has been my guide?
Heavenly peace, divinest comfort,
here by faith in Him to dwell!
For I know whatever befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well.
